Year 12 Report

A Great Start to the Final Year: Senior Focus Day

The final year of school is off to an inspiring start, thanks to our Senior Focus Day! This special event was designed to set the tone for a productive and fulfilling year, offering our seniors the opportunity to reflect on their achievements and set their sights on the future.

With this year’s chosen theme being “A year of lasts” the Senior Focus Day was not only about preparation but also about celebration, as students recognized how far they’ve come. As they embark on their final year, the energy and enthusiasm from this event will undoubtedly fuel their journey toward graduation. A we celebrate at our last swimming carnival this week I look forward to seeing our leaders in action and our cohort coming together to make lasting memories. Here's to a year of growth, success, and memorable experiences!

Year 11 Report

Welcome back to our Year 11 students and families as we embark on your senior schooling journey! It was fantastic to see so many smiling faces last Tuesday and to catch up with Year 11 students who look refreshed and ready for a massive 2025. The next three terms will be rewarding but challenging as students complete Year 11 coursework in a condensed model of three terms. In Term 4 this year, they will return from September holidays to begin Year 12 studies. This is deliberate strategy to enhance results in their all important final year of schooling, and allows us to maximise assessment time in Year 12 before they break for external exams in Term 4 of 2026. We have some many talented and capable student in the Year 11 cohort, and it’s really exciting to see what they’re capable of this year.

So far uniform and behaviour have been outstanding. Please remember that Tuesday is formal shirt day and students are expected to wear their white shirt on this day. Students are welcome to then change out of, and back into, their white shirt if they are completing more practical subjects like HPE or manual arts. Please also keep jewellery to a minimum per the uniform policy. Excessive jewellery is prohibited, and we expect our students to present professionally and in a way that mirrors our workplace health and safety requirements. As we head towards the cooler months, our Year 11 students will have a chance to purchase a senior jacket. They will receive this in Term 2 of this year meaning they’ll get at least two winters worth of wear out of it. More information regarding senior jackets will be communicated in the near future.

I’m really proud to be the Year 11 Co-ordinator of such a talented and outgoing cohort, and know that the next two years will bring much success for the class of 2026. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me at school on 54722218 or via email at jboul14@eq.edu.au.

Year 10 Report

Hello and welcome to Year 10! We have got off to a great start with the vast majority of students wearing full uniform and bring all equipment to school so they are ready to learn.

From an operational perspective, it’s important to know that ‘White Shirt Tuesdays’ continue to form an important part of Noosa District Culture. Whole Campus Parades take place an alternate Tuesdays and it is always wonderful to see students wearing their white shirts and in doing so, respecting the school expectations.

Year level parades take place on Wednesdays, and it is here that lots of crucial information will be shared so attendance is essential.

Year 10 is an important year for future planning – it is the time when, through VWS and at other times, students will have opportunities to engage in thinking about their Careers and Pathways. Tara Blair is our Industry Liaison Officer, and she will be an important point of contact for many Year 10 students and parents over the course of the year.

As Year 10 Coordinator, I am excited about working with the students in this very important time in their educational journey. I am confident that it is going to be a great year, and I look forward to celebrating the students as they grow into young adults.

Year 9 Report

Welcome to the Cooroy Campus, Year 9. I hope that all the students and their families enjoyed the summer holidays, and found the time to reflect on achievements and goals, as well as finding the time to relax, and recharge.

The school year has kicked off, at full steam. The Year 9 students have performed extremely well in their transition to the Cooroy campus demonstrating being responsible, being respectful and being active learners. The year level team is proud of how quickly the students have adapted to their new subjects, teachers, classrooms and class groupings.

It is common for students to experience a degree of apprehension when there is any change of circumstances, and this is why the Year 9-year level team have invested in the transition program at the end of last year. There is a great support team available to the Year 9 students. This team consists of Lee Merrett (Deputy Principal); myself Bernard Weekes Year Level Coordinator (Home groups A, B, C), Head of Year Luke Thompson (Home Groups D, E) And Head of Year Murray Gordon (Home Groups F, G). This team is specifically dedicated to the academic, behavioural and wellbeing needs of the Year 9 cohort. Please feel free to contact the team if you have any concerns or comments.

Uniform in general has been excellent but it is important to reinforce the wearing formal white shirts on Tuesdays, correct footwear and following the P&C guidelines on piercings and jewelry. Wearing non uniform and therefore unsafe shoes, places in jeopardy the completion of subjects that require leather shoes for foot protection in class. Long or large hoop earrings, nose rings and face rings provide a catch hazard and therefore are not allowed. Please ensure all uniform is correct and if there is an issue, please go to T11 to change before school.

Year 8 Report

Welcome to the 2025 academic year at Noosa District State High School! We are excited to have our Year 8 students continue their educational journey at our Pomona Campus. As you embark on this new chapter, we aim to provide a supportive and enriching environment that fosters both academic and personal growth.

As leaders of the Pomona Campus it is our responsibility to model the expectations throughout the school and community. I know that we are well suited for this challenge and our Student Leadership Expressions of Interest are now open.

Our School Leadership Program initiatives allow students to develop and enhance their leadership skills, promoting a positive school culture by leading and promoting participation in whole school events and regular campus specific activities. Students interested in being an important part of our Student Leadership Program are required to register with me at the YLC office or the Home Group teacher.

We look forward to a successful and enriching year ahead with our Year 8 students. Together, let's make 2025 a year of growth, learning, and achievement by trying our best with our learning and being good humans each and every day.

Year 7 Report

We’re off to a fantastic start in Year 7 this term! It has been an action-packed first week, with our Mimburi Farm visit, Berry Street induction lessons, and settling into the general routines of Noosa High.

Starting high school can be a daunting experience for students, but our Junior Secondary Campus provides a gentle and supportive transition into this exciting new chapter.

There’s plenty happening around campus as we move through the term! Lunchtime clubs are also in full swing, offering a wide variety of activities for students to explore—there’s something for everyone!

Student Leadership is a vital part of our school culture, giving students a voice in key events, celebrations, and school initiatives. If your child is interested in joining our Junior Leadership Program, they are encouraged to visit the Year Level Coordinator Office. Leadership is a fantastic way to build confidence, make new friends, and develop a strong sense of school pride.

As we move forward in Year 7 and leave the echoes of primary school behind, communication becomes more important than ever. Please don’t hesitate to reach out—to your child’s teacher, to me, or via email—if you need support or clarification on anything Year 7 related.

Keep smiling, stay curious, and be kind!
