Captains' Comments

With the start of term 2 kicking off, we get ready for the term ahead, and all the opportunities that await us. This week, we saw our student compete for house points in the 2025 cross country around the school. As students run, walk, and jog together, they compete for points to help lead their houses to victory.

In the previous week, Noosa district held the ANZAC day ceremony. As we commemorated the fallen troops who laid their life for our country, we joined together in their memory. This important event reminds us of the hardship and loss of so many families, and why it is so significant for us to honour them for their sacrifice.

Furthermore, as winter approaches, we prepare for sleep rough, where students will experience a night ‘sleeping rough’ to spread awareness of those in less fortunate conditions. Additionally, all profits from this event is donated to buy backpack beds for the homeless, giving them the opportunity of protection from a shelter. Commencing on Friday, the 13th of June, we encourage everyone to sign their notes and start fundraising! Moreover, during the day will be ‘winter woollies’, so remember to snuggle up and bring a gold coin donation.

After a long renovation process, our hall bathrooms are to open up. This renovation brings new life to the hall facilities and will benefit members of the school community as well as those visiting our school for our upcoming events, such as our fast-approaching musical, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, in term 3!

In more recent news, on Tuesday, the 13th of May, Noosa District’s parent-teacher evening will be hosted from 3:30 pm – 6:00 pm at the Cooroy campus. We encourage parents to come along to discuss and explore ways to support your child’s learning journey and their success!

As we look ahead, we are excited for all the events and activities that the rest of 2025 has in store. We encourage each of you to stay engaged, continue to show your school spirit, and make the most of every moment. On behalf of the Student Council, we want to wish you all an incredible rest of the term.
