Junior Secondary Campus Context …
Excellence in Every Lesson – A Term Full of Purpose
Term 2 is soaring ahead at full speed, and our Junior Secondary students are rising to the challenge. This time of year is critical in the learning journey, with students deeply engaged in assessments across their subjects. Success often lies in consistent effort and students who plan ahead, manage their time well, and seek feedback along the way typically achieve stronger outcomes.
Parents and carers play a key role in supporting this process. A quick check-in can make a big difference:
- What did you learn today?
- How did you do?
- What did you do if you didn’t understand?
- How can you improve on your learning?
- What are you most proud of?
Encouraging your child to submit their best possible draft early—and to apply the feedback they receive is one of the most powerful ways to boost their achievement. Teachers are here to guide every student to reach their potential and make the most of each learning opportunity.
The FLYING Philosophy – What Makes Us Unique
At our Junior Secondary Campus, we don’t just talk about values, we live them. Our FLYING philosophy, built around Being Respectful, Responsible, and Active Learners, is a cornerstone of everyday life at Noosa District SHS.
We set the bar high because we believe in our students. Whether it’s showing respect in the classroom, walking safely to school, using appropriate language, or simply being prepared each day, these expectations help create a safe, supportive, and inspiring learning environment. These values are explicitly reinforced in our weekly FLYING Wellbeing lessons, and most importantly, they are brought to life by our students, who consistently represent our school with pride both on and off campus.
A Campus Like No Other – What’s New and What’s Next
We are counting down to our Junior Secondary Showcase on Tuesday 27th May. This is a fantastic opportunity for current families to celebrate student achievements, engage with teachers, and explore our unique programs. It’s also a warm invitation to future families to experience what sets our campus apart. Hands-on learning, dynamic performances, and our welcoming community spirit. Enrolment information for 2026 will also be presented during an information session in the library.
Term 2 also marks the start of our transition season. Our team has already visited local primary schools, sparking excitement and curiosity in future Noosa High students. We’re proud to offer a campus culture that blends high expectations, real-world learning, and a strong sense of belonging.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
Our YABBA students recently took part in a memorable camp at our picturesque third campus in Belli Park. Immersed in the natural surroundings of Mimburi, this experience brought their program to life and demonstrated the power of hands-on, environmental learning. I want to say a huge thank you to Mr. Fuller, Mr. Mahony and Stan for their work in ensuring this program is always a highlight.
Thank you to our students, families, and dedicated staff for contributing to a vibrant and successful Term 2. The energy, pride, and passion across our campus make this a truly one-of-a-kind place to learn and grow.
