Principal’s Perspective

Stacy_Wilmore.jpg
Dear Parents, students and community
It has been wonderful to celebrate our thriving school environment both in and out of the classroom as the term progresses. Our students are consistently demonstrating an outstanding commitment to our expectations of being respectful, responsible and active learners and this is contributing to our wonderful environment and continued school success that I am so proud of. It’s a great time to be part of Noosa High.

Excellence in Learning

Academic excellence remains a core value at NDSHS. We recently honoured our top achievers from Years 7–12 at a special Academic Morning Tea, catered by our talented hospitality students. It was inspiring to hear these students share their habits of success and reflect on their learning journeys.

Musical

Noosa High Musicals are known for their outstanding stage productions and this year has been no different as our students and staff took centre stage with our musical, “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.” Featuring 150 students from Years 5–12, the production was a joyful celebration of talent, teamwork, and school spirit. We couldn’t be prouder of the staff and students who brought this magical show to life. What an incredible production!

Careers and Pathways Expo

Our recent Pathways and Careers Expo showcased the diverse opportunities available to students, highlighting the flexibility and innovation of our flagship programs. We’re grateful to our local industry and tertiary education partners whose support helps us offer some of the most dynamic subject choices and flexible pathways on the coast. Student pathways are in great hands at NDSHS!

Interschool Sports

Our Year 7 and 8 Interschool sports teams took the fields and courts last week and shared some outstanding success representing our school the highest standard in round 1. We look forward to the next round of competition and congratulate all students who are involved and thank our wonderful staff for supporting teams.

Well done to our athletes who competed in the District Athletics competition this week – we cannot wait to share the success stories!

Just as energy, enthusiasm and persistence alter all things, as does continued and focussed effort. As we continue through the term, it is important our students keep up the hard work in the classroom and maintain their energy on the end of unit assessment. When reflecting on learning, we use the 5 questions for students to get feedback on learning and these are very helpful for parents as well.

Class of 2025 – Year 12 final semester

Our Year 12 students are an outstanding group of young people who make an amazing contribution to our school and wider community every day. The qualities of this group reflect the values of our school, entire community and their families; and we have seen them grow and develop into a close group of students who have a strong sense of service, connection and commitment to make a difference in the world. As a very special group of young people facing their final semester, I know they will finish strongly and each and every one of us are behind these students to do the best they can. We look forward to the Senior Formal as a key occasion of this final semester scheduled Thursday 18th September at the School Hall and welcome our entire community to line Tulip St and celebrate student arrivals which will be a showcase for our community. Good luck to our Year 12’s in their final units of study at NDSHS. We know they will do themselves, their families and the school proud.

Student Leadership

The selection of our student leaders for 2026 is about to commence.  Our student leaders are custodians of our student voice, culture and have an important role in our school community as they build on the legacy of those before them. I have been particularly impressed with our student leadership group from years 7-12 this year and have great confidence that we will find a strong group of student leaders to build on the successes of this year for 2026.  Our future at Noosa is in great hands.

Once again, please enjoy the celebrations in our newsletter as we continue to reach exceptional heights as a school community. Thank-you all for your ongoing support and partnership as we work together to empower student success each and every day at Noosa High.
