Principal’s Perspective
Dear Parents, students and community
It has been wonderful to celebrate our thriving school environment both in and out of the classroom as the term progresses. Our students are consistently demonstrating an outstanding commitment to our expectations of being respectful, responsible and active learners and this is contributing to our wonderful environment and continued school success that I am so proud of. It’s a great time to be part of Noosa High.
A Thriving Term of Learning and Achievement
As we approach the final weeks of the term, our vibrant school community continues to flourish both in and beyond the classroom. Our students consistently demonstrate what it means to be respectful, responsible, and active learners—values that are the foundation of our positive school culture and ongoing success.
Over the past few weeks, the determination, creativity, and persistence of our students have been on full display, and we couldn’t be prouder.
Student Leadership - Looking Ahead to 2026
The selection process for our 2026 student leaders is now underway. Student leaders play a vital role in amplifying student voice, shaping school culture, and continuing the legacy of those who came before them.
I was incredibly impressed by the calibre of candidates during their interviews and speeches. Each student brought thoughtful insights and a clear vision for the future of our school. We are fortunate to have such a talented group of emerging leaders, and I am confident they will continue to build on the successes of this year.
Opti-MINDS Success
The Opti-MINDS Creative Sustainability Challenge empowers students to think critically, collaborate, and communicate creatively. We were proud to host the Sunshine Coast Regional Championships at our beautiful Junior Campus, continuing our strong tradition of involvement in this prestigious event.
Our Senior team won the regional championship and will represent us at the State Championships in October. Meanwhile, our Year 7 and 8 teams also achieved outstanding results, earning Honours and the Spirit of Opti-MINDS award. Congratulations to all our incredible students and the dedicated staff who supported them!
Flagship Programs- Pathways and Possibilities
At this year’s Careers and Pathways Expo, we proudly launched our 2026 Flagship Programs—innovative learning pathways designed to prepare students for diverse and dynamic futures. These programs build on the strong foundation of Junior Secondary and are supported by leading tertiary and industry partners.
Our six Flagship Programs include:
- Summit Academic Pathway
- Agriculture and Agribusiness
- Outdoor and Environmental Education
- Hospitality and Tourism
- Building and Construction
- Creative Industries
With subject selection now complete for our Year 8, 9, and 10 students, we look forward to seeing the exciting opportunities these pathways will unlock in the years ahead.
Class of 2025 - The Final Chapter Begins
Our Year 12 students are entering the final stretch of their school journey. From their first day in Prep to their Year 6 graduation, and their transition into high school at our Junior Campus, it’s been a remarkable 13-year journey.
As they prepare for their Year 12 Formal on Thursday, 16 September, we invite our entire community to join us on Tulip Street to celebrate this milestone. These students are a testament to the strength of our school community, and we thank everyone who has supported them along the way.
We know our seniors will finish strong, backed by the encouragement of staff, peers, and families who believe in their potential.
I trust you will enjoy reading the stories of success and celebration in this edition of our newsletter, and I hope you feel as proud of our students as I do. Their achievements are a reflection of the strength, support, and spirit of our entire school community.
Kind regards
Ms Wilmore
Principal
