Junior Secondary Campus Context …
What a term it’s been at our Junior Secondary campus — bursting with energy, achievement, and unforgettable moments. From interschool sport to Opti-Minds, cattle shows, Sleep Rough, Book Week, and the ICAS competition, our students have truly soared. Their enthusiasm, teamwork, and commitment to excellence continue to make us proud.
FLYING + Classes: Learning Beyond the Classroom
Every Thursday in Period 4, our students dive into their FLYING + classes. These are a unique Pomona initiative that blends the Australian Curriculum with real-world capabilities. These sessions are designed to stretch thinking, spark creativity, and build future-ready skills. Whether it's sustainability, innovation, leadership or wellbeing, our students are thriving in these dynamic learning environments. Hats off to our incredible teachers who make this magic happen every week.
Term 4 selections for FLYING + are just around the corner and we can’t wait to see our students pursue next.
Wellbeing First: The Berry Street Educational Model
At Pomona, we believe that wellbeing is the foundation of great learning. That’s why we’ve embraced the Berry Street Educational Model, which is a research-backed approach that equips students with tools for self-regulation, resilience, and positive relationships. Each morning begins with connection and care, and every lesson starts with a ‘Ready to Learn’ check-in. Students have personalised plans that help them thrive, and these are revisited weekly in our wellbeing lessons. It’s all part of our commitment to nurturing confident, capable learners.
Enrolments Now Open – Join the Pomona Family
We’re thrilled to welcome new families to our campus. Enrolments are open for Year 6 students transitioning into Year 7 in 2026. Thank you to those families of students in Year 4-6 who have joined us for school tours or enrolment meetings so far. If you haven’t submitted your enrolment pack yet, now’s the time — don’t miss out on key transition events and updates. Additionally, we’ve also had a wave of new enrolments in Years 7 and 8. Families are drawn to our stunning grounds, our inclusive culture, and the exciting opportunities we offer.
To our wonderful families, thank you for your ongoing support and partnership. Together, we’re building a school where every student is seen, supported, and inspired to succeed. Wishing you all a safe, restful break. We can’t wait to welcome you back for another term of growth, connection, and discovery.
Kind regards,
Josh Cleary
Head of Campus
