Junior Secondary Campus Context …

A Focus on Quality Teaching and Learning…

As we enter the final term of the year, our focus sharpens on finishing strong—not just academically, but in attitude, effort, and behaviour. Success isn’t only measured by grades; it’s built on commitment, resilience, and the choices we make every day. At our Junior Secondary Campus, we champion the values of Respect, Responsibility, and Active Learning, qualities that shape not only great students but future-ready citizens.

These values are more than school rules. They are life skills. Employers, universities, and communities seek individuals who collaborate, contribute, and show initiative. While knowledge and skills can be taught, the mindset to grow, work with others, and lead with integrity must be nurtured intentionally. Let’s help our students build these habits now.

For our Year 8 students, Term 4 is a pivotal time as they prepare to transition to our Cooroy campus. Teachers are working closely to create the best class groupings for Year 9, using Semester 2 reports to guide decisions. This is a great opportunity for students to reflect on their Term 3 journey, celebrate wins, identify growth areas, and set clear goals for the term ahead. We encourage families to sit down together and create a few achievable goals that students can commit to. TrackED profiles will soon be available, offering insights into academic progress. Parents and carers are welcome to reach out to teachers via email (available on our website) to discuss strategies for improvement. Together, we can ensure every student finishes the year with pride and purpose.

Junior Secondary Campus’ FLYING Philosophy…

Our Junior Secondary Campus is more than just a place to learn. It’s a vibrant, purpose-built environment where our FLYING philosophy comes to life every day. Through engaging curriculum and dynamic teaching, we empower students to soar by being Respectful, Responsible, and Active Learners.

Being respectful means listening, collaborating, and treating everyone with kindness. Responsibility is about owning your actions, making safe choices, and standing up for what’s right—even when it’s hard. Being an active learner means showing up with curiosity, asking questions, and making the most of every lesson.

Our campus is a stunning space designed for junior learners, with dedicated facilities and beautiful grounds that support both learning and play. We’re proud to see so many students living our values daily, and we’ll continue to celebrate those who lead by example.

Junior Secondary Campus Community Events…

Term 4 is packed with exciting events that showcase the spirit and talent of our campus. One of the highlights is our Celebration of Excellence Night, a prestigious event that honours students who have excelled in Academics, Culture, Sport, and Citizenship. We can’t wait to see our Pomona students shine on stage.

Last week, our Arts Academy students visited the Mimburi Campus for a creative immersion day. They explored ways to transform the local environment into art and planned drama performances. Joining them were Year 6 students from Pomona State School, who got a taste of life as an Arts Academy student to help them make informed choices as they prepare for Year 7 in 2026.

Our incredible teachers continue to offer a wide range of lunchtime clubs and activities, advertised through daily notices and weekly parades. These opportunities help students build friendships, discover new interests, and develop valuable skills. One standout event is our Grade of Origin touch football series, where Year 7 and Year 8 students compete for the coveted shield—an exciting way to build camaraderie and school spirit.

Thank you to our families for your ongoing support. Together, we’re building a campus where students thrive, values are lived, and learning is an adventure.

Kind regards,
